Therapeutic Massage by Aaron

Overview

I completed my massage training at Harper College and acquired my state license in 2023.

For me, massage therapy is for the body what psychotherapy is for the mind: a disentangling of structures and functions in order to achieve a healthy, optimal state. As in psychotherapy, work is required of the patient. Therapists aren’t magicians, but partners in transforming their clients’ experiences.

Clients have used words like “different” and “intense” to describe my massage style. I use both broad and finely-targeted compression techniques to release muscles and reduce adhesion. These muscle releases are the primary goal of my sessions. They lead to improved range of motion and better quality of movement. It can be uncomfortable achieving these muscle releases, but, as in psychotherapy, embracing the sometimes-uncomfortable truth leads to better and fuller life.
